Nokia 2630 Review - A Review of the Nokia 2630 Cellular Phone
The Nokia 2630 cellular phone provides camera and FM radio capability in a small, low cost package. The 128 by 160 pixel screen displays 65,356 colors. The 4.13 inch height, 1.77 inch width, 0.39 inch thickness, and 2.33 ounce candy bar shape provide a comfortable to use package that includes WAP 2.0 (xHTML) web browser functionality.
The VGA 0.3 mega pixel camera included with the Nokia 2639 features 4x digital zoom, a dedicated camera activation button, and an Image Sequence feature that will automatically take up to 3 pictures rapidly with 1 press of the shutter button so that after review, the best picture can be kept.
An FM radio is standard and uses the earphones as the radio antenna. The radio is conveniently activated with a One Touch shortcut key.
E-mail POP3, IMP4, and SMTP protocols are supported with the Nokia 2630. SMS (Short Message Service (SMS) and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) enable simple messaging, and transmission and receipt of audio and visual content. Fast, accurate text entry is enabled with the T9 Predictive Text keyboard function. Instant Messaging is also provided if network supported. Distribution Lists, Call Waiting, Speed Dial, Voice Recorder, and a hands free loudspeaker are standard.
Personal Information Management features include a Phone Book with up to 1,000 contacts, Pre-paid Call Tracker, Analog/digital Clock with alarm, Calculator, Currency Converter, To-Do List, and an Expense Manager. An Organizer with week and month review with a localized calendar is also provided. Personal Computer synchronization of the calendar, images and contact list is supported via the standard Bluetooth 2.0 interface. Device functions, including optional computer applications, are supported by 11 megabytes of internal memory. Java MDP 2.0 provides support for computer applications.
The cellular battery can be expected to provide approximately 6 hours of talk time and 13 days of standby time dependent on usage and network characteristics. Optional accessories include a wireless, hands free in-car kit and a wireless Bluetooth headset.
Network communication is via EGSM 900/1800. GPRS and EGPRS data transfer are supported.
The Nokia 2630 handset is a good cell phone choice for those requiring basic email, internet browsing, and picture taking functions with a need to interact with an office e-mail product.
