The nineties are not in the distant past, and most of us remember them fairly well, but if you have a rap master about to have a birthday, a nineties party might just be the ticket. Nineties parties are all about the master rappers, the costumes should be over the top and larger than life. With period music from rappers like Snoop Dog, Eminem, and Tupac, and plenty of snacks and games, the party is bound to be a rousing success.

If you have no oversized clothing, you can always borrow some from a larger family member or friend. Bright colors, baby blue, and brand names like Tommy Hilfiger, and sagging, bagging, and boxer baring are the ticket to dressing in 90s style.

A fun nineties party game is an ever popular memory teaser. Take from ten to twelve nineties themed items. Place them in a basket, and cover the basket with a cloth. When everyone has their pencils at ready and are gathered around, remove the cloth, wait about thirty seconds, replace the cloth, and tell each person to get ready to name an item that they saw in the basket. Then, each person takes a turn, names an item, and when someone repeats an item or fails to name an item under the cover, they are out. Repeat this with additional items until you have a winner.

Name that tune is another game appropriate for a nineties party, and can be played in several ways. The common thread is that each method contains the use of snippets of approximately two minutes of popular nineties music, such as rap. When a snippet is played, partiers take turns either naming the tune, finishing the snippet, or naming the artists or group who are performing the selection.
