Improving Your Self-Esteem

Improving your self-esteem can give you more confidence, strength, and resiliency to face and overcome obstacles in life. There are things that you can do to improve your self-esteem and to feel good about yourself. One thing you can do immediately is change your attitude about the task or goal that you are committed to achieve. Every morning before leaving for work, take a minute to look in the mirror and say to yourself, I am somebody, I am a winner, and I like myself. These and other positive affirmations, when said repeatedly, can help to build up your self-esteem.

Here are a few tips on improving your self-esteem. First, list the negative things you say often about yourself, as it pertains to the job, and discuss them openly. Second, take the time to find out why you are saying these things, and instead of saying negative things, change your words to something positive. You can start building a healthy self-esteem by doing the following:

1) Forgiving yourself
2) Forgiving others
3) Rewarding yourself
4) Practicing Basics Care (good diet, exercise and rest)
5) Believing in yourself/dreams
6) Loving and accepting yourself
7) Setting attainable goals
8) Meditating and spending quite time
9) Visualizing yourself achieving and prospering in life
10) Self-nurturing (fake it until you make it)
11) Praying daily

It is important to have healthy self-esteem because no one want to be, or work with a non-achiever. When you have healthy self-esteem, it means that you are happy with yourself. There is nothing you will believe that you cannot do, or achieve in life. Whether it is a team of basketball players, or people working on a project, the team can win only when the players believe it. You must look at the things that you can change about the negative situation on the job, and the things that you cannot change. Get a pen and paper and make two separate lists and get busy and change what you can at this time. You should forget about things that you cannot change, so that it will not block you from achieving your goals in life. The sky is the limit for anyone with a healthy self-esteem so GO FOR IT!
