The IAOP (International Association of Outsourcing Professionals) is the global, standard-setting organization and advocates for the outsourcing profession. The IAOP offers the COP (Certified Outsourcing Professional) program. Anyone who takes this certification will possess the unique knowledge and know-how it takes to design, implement and manage successful outsourcing initiatives.

Who is eligible for the program? Well, any individual who has worked on all stages of multiple successful outsourcing projects for multiple organizations can achieve certification based on their current experience alone. Or one must have the knowledge and education through successful completion of the COP Master Class, and/ or be a post graduate and by passing the COP Examination.

By earning this industry designation, certified professionals can set themselves apart as preferred customers, providers, and advisors with whom to work. They can also command greater respect in their field and are sure to get a higher compensation for their work. The COP application requires a $500.00 non-refundable fee.

What are the details that have to be given with the application for the COP exam? They include details about the specific outsourcing projects they have successfully worked on, and must agree to the Ethical and Business Practice Standards for Outsourcing Professionals.

The Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) Master Class is an integral part of Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) Program. The IAOP and Academic Alliance Partner, Syracuse University, have together launched the online version of the COP Master Class. The course offers the opportunity to work with seasoned veterans to develop a customized outsourcing project plan for an actual project. It also offers networking opportunities to interact with other industry professionals and to synthesize the latest management thinking on outsourcing. They also get insights from real life outsourcing situations directly from companies around the world.
