Throwing a Rock and Roll Party can get pretty complicated at times, with several decades of rock and many different styles to choose from. Since there are indeed so many different types of rock the first thing you need to do is find out just what types your guests like. Maybe some of your friends might be into the older stuff like Elvis, or the beach boys. This would definitely clash with some of the newer genres of rock where the main goal is how loud it is. In fact if you do have some fans of the more incomprehensible bands you could have a misheard lyrics competition, to write down what they think the lyrics are. The results are usually hilarious.

Obviously, if you are going for a rock and roll party you need to play rock music in the background. You could pick different songs from guest suggestions and play them randomly. The guests could even provide the CDs to play from. If things get could have a rock trivia contest and the winner gets to chose the music until someone takes them down in the next contest. As for the decorations, rock posters, concert wall scrolls, music notes, Guitar props or pictures, these are all great ideas to decorate with. Maybe you could even throw in some flashing lights, streamers and confetti. Really though since this is a rock and roll party almost any party decorations would do the trick.

Parties can get quite messy especially those that are inherently oriented toward music or dance. Your guests will have a tendency to take their plates with them as they move around. So make sure to purchase plenty of napkins, paper plates, cups, plastic utensils and the like. Self-pride is your sense of your own value or worth as a person. It is how much you like, accept, approve, and respect yourself. Imagine that you arrive into the world with an inner ball of white light. This light lives inside of you providing warmth and love, and offering meaning to your life. Build quiet time into your schedule, perhaps before everyone else gets up out of bed, during a midmorning break, or after the kids are asleep. Quiet time is when you shut out as much outside interference as possible. You may take a gentle walk, or simply be still and breathe. During this 10 minutes, allow yourself to feel peaceful and happy. Enjoy this quiet time. It is yours - and yours alone. And you deserve it. Setting aside 10 minutes of quite time everyday is a very caring thing to do for your mind, body, and emotional life.

2. One of the most common ways to raise your self-esteem is to expand your comfort zone by taking a risk and being successful doing so. Listen to what your body, mind, and spirit are telling you. Follow the signs of excitement and choose a personally meaningful goal, life direction, or dream that you are willing to put time, effort, and personal energy into. Deciding to choose a meaningful life direction provides value to your time, and offers meaning to your life. Choose something and follow through. Celebrate your efforts, and praise your successes. With time, your words of support will allow your inner white light to expand and fill you with warmth and self-appreciation.

3. Take very good care of yourself. Instead of behaving well, or doing the right thing, listen to your body and treat yourself with love. Listen inwardly and eat foods that make you feel more alive, before and after eating them. Engage in activity that boosts your endorphins and self-esteem. This is not the same as exercising to lose weight. Instead, move your body because your butt says you have been sitting on your office chair for far too long, or your legs needs to stretch, or your lungs are crying out for some fresh air and sunshine.

4. Encourage yourself to be a creative, imaginative problem solver. Instead of falling into overwhelm, worrying, or giving up when you meet adversity, ask your inner creative self to come up with an optimistic solution. Wait for the creative solution to arrive.

5. Accept responsibility for your actions, and accept the consequences of your actions. You are an adult, and allowed to make choices. Naturally, all choices have consequences. You get to decide if you like the outcomes of your choices. You are not a good boy or girl based on undesirable outcomes, rather you are an empowered person capable of learning from your experiences. Use your wisdom to make new self-supportive decisions.

6. Encourage yourself through new experiences with I believe in me messages. Trust that as long as you put effort toward your desired outcome, you will achieve success. You may not know when success will arrive, or exactly how you will achieve it. However, continue to pump belief into what you declare that you deserve in your lifetime, and with time and action you will be able to achieve it.

7. Look to the future with excitement, a sense of adventure and optimism. Recognize yourself as a person worthy of success, and spend time visualizing your success. Decide to focus on specific dreams, aspirations, and hopes for the future. Take some sort of action everyday that helps to increase your excitement for living.

8. Allow yourself to make mistakes. Understand that problems, conflicts, and failures are a part of life. When you make mistakes, smile and hug yourself. Provide yourself with the comfort your really need. Let yourself know this world is a safe place if you choose to make it a safe place. You can learn to encourage and support yourself through the good times and especially the bad times. Love that you are overcoming fear and attempting something new no matter what the outcome.
When an occasional failure is experienced get up, dust yourself off, access the wisdom gained, believe in yourself, and begin again.

Everybody loves a dinner party and they are excellent times to get your friends or family together and reconnect or celebrate. Invite your friends over for a nice Italian dinner or whatever type of food you choose. Be sure to keep it casual and you may even ask them to bring their favorite wine or wines. You will also want some great dessert planned and perhaps even some fun games for after dinner. These are great and casual parties that allow you to just kick back and enjoy being with friends. Perhaps next week they will invite you over for dinner. These types of parties are also great alternatives to going out to eat, as you get to try different styles of cooking without breaking the bank.

A formal dinner party can also be a lot of fun. Sometimes you just like to dress up and have some fun. The menu should be something special and not something that you all eat on a regular basis, however, the meal should be easy to prepare so that you are not in the kitchen all night and not able to enjoy the company of your friends.

Once you have your style figured out, you will need to begin planning how much time it is going to take to prepare the meal. You want to have plenty of time to conversate with your friends and you want to have time to enjoy the meal yourself. Be sure to plan ample time for cooking, visiting and cleaning. You also need to consider who is coming and if their diet has any restrictions. You may have some friends who are allergic to shellfish, so your Shrimp Scampi might not be the best recipe idea. You may also have friends who are vegetarians, so your New York Strip steaks might not be a great idea either. Be sure to plan plenty of time for grocery shopping and recipe preparation or adjustments.

For a more formal affair, you may choose to print out small menus and invitations to your dinner party. If so, your preparation will need to begin early enough so that you are able to announce the party and ensure that all guests are invited and able to RSVP in time. You may also need to purchase special paper for menus and invitations. You will also want to be sure that your guests are compatible. Do not invite individuals that may not get a long together and be sure to invite those who will be disheartened if you dont invite them. Try to invite people with the same interests so that there will be a good flow of conversation.

Next, you will need to determine how you are going to serve the food. Are you going to allow guests to serve themselves via a buffet in your kitchen or are all dishes going to be sat on the table. For a formal dinner party, you may plan to have all plates prepared and delivered to guests sitting at the table.

Cooking can be stressful. If you are making a new recipe, you may want to make it a week before as a test. If you can make your dessert the night before you will also save a lot of time. Another excellent idea is to prepare cold appetizers and desserts so that they are not taking up precious oven space. If you feel that you are going to be in the kitchen for a while invite your guests to hang out and pitch in the preparation of the meal. You can chat, have a glass of wine and your guests will have a good feeling of being helpful. Besides, people love to watch other people cook.

After the meal, be sure to offer mints and a nice liqueur or dessert wine. Coffee is also excellent with dessert and will sort of give finality to the meal. Use this time to ask your friends what they liked and disliked and how you can improve the recipes.

Depreciation is a way you are allowed to deduct the normal wear and tear of business assets (equipment, computer software, automobiles, office furniture, etc). You may claim an item which: you use in your business, wears out over time, AND has a useful life exceeding one year. Because the item is expected to wear out over time (longer than one year), time frames have been assigned to different classes of items, depending on how long that item is expected to be useful in your business. These time frames are called classifications or class life.

Some common classifications:

3 years: off the shelf computer software

5 years: cars, trucks, trailers, computers and peripherals, copiers, calculators

7 years: office furniture, fixtures, unclassified personal property

When depreciating an item, you will need to choose both one method and one convention.

Methods:

Declining Balance

The General Depreciating System (GDS) is the standard, accelerated method of depreciation under MACRS. Using the GDS 200% declining balance (200DB) method (150% for 15 and 20 year property) means you get to deduct more of the value of the item in the early years of its recovery period.

Straight Line

The Straight-Line (S/L) method of depreciation allows you to deduct the value of your item equally over the recovery period.

Alternative Depreciation

The Alternative Depreciation System (ADS) uses the straight-line method of depreciation over a specified number of years. The recovery period for ADS is usually a little longer than used under general or straight-line depreciation methods. (Comparison charts found in the book.)

Choosing a Method

The year you purchase and put your item into use in the business is generally the first year you will take depreciation deductions. That first year is when you will choose what method of depreciation to use. It is standard to use the GDS 200% declining balance method for computing most of your business property. Sometimes, however, you are required to use a different method (usually when business usage is 50% or less on listed property).

You may generally elect to use either the ADS or Straight-Line method for business assets, instead of an accelerated method. The catch to doing so is you must make that election for all property of the same class life put into use in the same year.

Example: If Morgan made the election to depreciate her office desk (7 year property) using the straight-line method, she would also have to use the straight-line method for all other 7 year property purchased and put into use in the same year.

Once you choose a depreciation method, you need to stick with it for that particular item until it is fully depreciated (unless you are required to change, as with business usage dropping to 50% or less).

Listed Property

In order to use an accelerated method of depreciation for listed property, you must use the equipment more than 50% for business purposes. If you use the item 50% or less for business purposes, listed property must be depreciated using the Alternative Depreciation System.

If you initially use your listed property over 50% for business, but then in drops in a later year, previous accelerated depreciation deductions are subject to recapture. The amount recaptured is the amount previous deductions exceed the depreciation that would have been allowable under ADS.

Practice.

Take every opportunity to rehearse your presentation. Recognise that knowing your material in your head is one thing.

Opening your mouth and letting the words come out is the very best way to practice. It does make a difference.

If you want to be taken seriously, treat this seriously, and prepare yourself through practice.

Never practice on your live audience.

I never really understood what it meant when I heard this statement but after hearing it for a couple of times, it served as a wake up call to me. Why do I say that?

It is actually quite easy to put into practice. Just imagine that you have not found the opportunity to work on to achieve financial freedom and every day you just plod along without much enthusiasm in life for the next couple of years.

What type of person you have become after that couple of years without finding that right opportunity? You would definitely become the most boring and pessimistic person anyone has known before, right?

Why? Because if you are not enthusiastic about doing anything at all, what makes you think that you will be a nice person to be with?

I strongly agree that one has to be excited, motivated, inspired, enthusiastic and optimistic in doing anything so that one is seen as a person with high self esteem, passion and drive and strives on to great achievements.

Question: Would you engage a optimistic and excited person or a pessimistic and boring person to head your company if you will an investor? The answer is obvious!

Therefore, the statement: How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything is applicable to anyone who wants to lead a fulfilling, enthusiastic and exciting life and I am sure all of you out there would definitely want to be the one to lead such a life.
